The taxes on cars in Denmark is through the roof, and parking is expensive if available. The solution is to do without, share a car with someone (and get some parking privileges), or just rent one when you are in need. You can rent a nice car, of course, and spend a small fortune, or if you just need to get from A to B, there is the "rent a corpse". Corpse being the danish word for a heavily beaten-up car. Riding this corpse will put you at risk of being ridiculed and even photographed in a blizzard. Not only because it is mainly held together by duct tape, but because the writing on the side reads: "If you plan to get lucky in our cars, you can't be picky".
